Why LEADERSHIP?

Leadership is the ability to rule, guide or inspire others to deliberately create a good result that would not have happened well. Thou everyone is born a leader due to the fact that biologically the first sperm cell fertilizes the ovum and also you can lead yourself to do various things. That does not guarantee one to be people’s choice. A true leader is born not made; good parental education does not guarantee that someone will make a good leader someday but it only enhance your abilities. Therefore a true leader is chosen and anointed by God even before being born.
It is very important to have a leader in the society so that everything can be done in an organized manner. You can imagine a situation where by everyone wants to listen to themselves and do things the way they want, the end result will be pathetic. Leadership in this case is vital since it will provide an inspirational figure to lead groups of people towards great accomplishment. This provides a foundation for ideas and excellence, showing that anything is possible. That is why great ideas are born from leadership because it inspires others to follow that same path, spreading out as it goes making even greater and useful things to happen.
A good leader should show at least the following qualities:
Knowledgeable and skillful
Good leadership is essential key to corporate success simply because a leader who is knowledgeable and skillful influences a group of individuals to achieve common goal. This is also done by being able to deliberately create challenging results by enlisting the help of others. Thus turning failing regions or groups into fortunes.
Role model
In order to achieve the dreams or the set goals the society expects, a good leader should set a good example worthy being emulated. That is why we still honor great minds of people like Mahatma Gandhi who said, “We must become the change we want to see.”
Motivator
A true leader should have the ability to motivate others. They don’t lead people by telling them what they have to do; instead they cause people to want to help them. This creates unity and good interaction between leaders and the society.
Understanding
Self-awareness is a virtue that each leader should possess. This enables a leader to have intimate knowledge of his or her emotional state, areas of strength, weakness, capability and limitations. This enables a leader to calm down when angered, make useful and quick decisions when necessary but also slows down to consider all options on the table.
Visionary
Working with a vision or set goal should be one of the great strength of a true leader. This enables a leader to look beyond their personal gains in order to uplift the minority in the society. This is because if you do not have a particular destination then any stopping point can be your final destiny in spite of the surroundings. It is also good to have set goals because if you aim at the sky and you land on top of a tree you will be above the ground. Thou on top of a tree may not be your target but at least you will be far beyond the worst which is the ground.
Self-direction
A good leader should have self-direction in order to govern him or her effectively and powerfully. This gives an opportunity to comprehend on how to get things done by organizing tasks and avoiding procrastination which is the easiest network to failure. By having self-direction then definitely integrity which is being complete by your actions marching with your words is not questionable. This also enhances your principles thus avoiding bad influence from the environs’ which can be very tempting to enable one start thinking of personal gains than serving the people. In the long run betrays honesty which is the first chapter in the book of wisdom.
Therefore a true leader should pitch high and not low thus refuse to be satisfied by less. I think that is why Hellene Keller said, “Never bend your head, hold it high and look at the world straight in the eye.”
Courageous
Having courage and being bold can help a good leader to gain victory in every hard situation. Shortly before his death Cardinal Gibbons said, “I have lived 86yrs. I have watched men climb up to success; hundreds of them and all elements that are important to success, the most important is faith. No great thing comes to a man unless he has courage.”
Bravo!!!! To all our leaders for the far you have brought us. It is not easy despite the long way which is full of ups and downs you are still pressing on which is our motive. We are not yet there but with tolerance, resilience, faith and trust in God one day we shall achieve our vision. Let’s keep on the fire burning bearing in mind that our vision can only be acquired through true, quality and good leadership which is the pillar of our success. The society is there to oversee, support and judge the outcome of leadership. This leads me to conclude that good leaders are dealers in hope of the society.
